Tom Barrett has 25 years of management experience in high growth enterprises, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience in building and developing high performing teams and delivering results. Barrett was most recently CEO of several portfolio companies at Brennan Management Group. Prior to that he was the GM/Executive Director of Learn.com, where he developed and led sales teams for the global knowledge exchange that provided more than 30,000 e-learning courses on the Learn.com LMS. Barrett also built and led the North American sales organization for iPass, a leading global remote access provider, which grew from startup to $100 million in recurring annual sales during his tenure.
Tom has been an active contributor to the Cleveland community with The Ohio Business Roundtable, Young Presidents Organization, St. Ignatius High School, the Great Lakes Science Center, Catholic Charities and the Community West Foundation. Barrett earned a B.A. in Organizational Communications from the University of Kansas.
Veli-Pekka Ketonen is the founder and Chief Innovation Officer of 7signal Solutions, Inc. Veli-Pekka has a broad background in radio networks, having built a 12 year career at Nokia Networks. As a Senior Manager, Program Manager, and Project Manager, he has led several large R&D initiatives within Nokia, including the development of Nokia UltraSite GSM/EDGE Base Station in Dallas/USA and the Nokia Microwave Radio products. With Nokia, Veli-Pekka was also responsible for Nokia GPRS/EDGE Radio Network (BSS) system performance competitiveness in the mobile networks market. Veli-Pekka has authored thirteen granted patents.
Veli-Pekka holds an M.Sc. in Technology (Radio Technology) from Helsinki University of Technology and has completed graduate courses as a postgraduate in Helsinki. Additionally Veli-Pekka has completed a series of executive training seminars at The California Institute of Technology and MIT.
Rich Garceau leads the sales organization at 7Signal. Rich’s responsibilities include defining and executing the sales strategies necessary to achieve 7Signals growth initiatives. Prior to this role, Rich was Executive Director of Sales at Lenovo where he was responsible for managing the corporate sales team in the Eastern half of the US.
Prior to his time with Lenovo, Rich spent 18 years at Dell in various sales and sales management positions. Rich holds a Bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve’s Weatherhead School of Management. Rich resides in Bainbridge, OH with his wife and two daughters.
Russ Wangler is a modern Agilest whose dedicated to delivering software value continuously. He is an architecturally fluent, modern technologist who enables innovation with agility, a requirement for today’s digital organizations. Russ also believes in Lean principles, transparency, and value stream mapping to improve project visibility and business performance.
Russ spent ten years at Accenture in various consultant roles before assuming the position of Director of Process Management and Enterprise Solution Delivery at Nationwide Insurance. Wrangler then progressed to The Gap where he directed all Technical Management. He was responsible for delivering on multi-million dollar software projects, and developed a center of software competence by instituting using Lean and Agile practices to improve organizational agility. Russ graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University with a BS degree in MIS, Computer Science and International Business.
Eric is responsible for building a world-class customer-centric brand focused on delivering high quality and highly productive experiences for people using Wi-Fi networks everywhere. A visionary and passionate customer advocate, Eric has been at the forefront of the customer experience management movement as a public speaker and published writer for the past ten years.
Formerly of Virtual Hold Technology in Akron, Eric has over fifteen years of experience in the communications industry. Eric combines technical know-how with an understanding of the challenges facing today’s enterprises. Eric received his BBA from the University of Cincinnati and Executive MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.
Chris Anderle is a seasoned financial management professional with over 28 years of accounting, finance and operational management experience. As the VP of Finance, Chris is responsible for the management of accounting, finance, procurement and human resources. Prior to joining 7 Signal, Chris held various executive management positions including CFO at Tradex International, Inc., CFO/VP Finance at Jenne, Inc. and VP Finance and Operations at Supply Side, Inc.
While at Jenne, Chris assisted in managing significant revenue, employee and operational growth in the technology solutions industry. Chris received his BS in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University and started his career as a CPA at Ernst & Young in Cleveland where he achieved the level of Senior Manager in their tax division.
Marko is the co-founder of 7signal and is a 15 year wireless industry technology veteran with expertise in Wi-Fi/WLAN, GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA technologies.
As a Network Specialist with Nokia Networks, Marko led several end-to-end performance projects in the E2E Solutions Development Department. The mission’s goal was to verify end-to-end performance and radio access service, and propose systematic corrective actions. Many of the projects were executed in operator networks worldwide.
Marko was also a member of the team whose responsibility was to build, verify and demonstrate the world’s first full IP based mobile network demonstration system. The system was successfully demonstrated in several exhibitions and for several operators in Europe.
