Change Your Password
Go to the Manage menu and select Change Password. It is recommended you change the password you received in your welcome email from 7SIGNAL Support.
Mark Change Events
Whenever you make any kind of network change, optimization, or fine tuning adjustment, marking the event in 7SIGNAL is a useful feature for comparing performance before and after.
Within your network topology, identify the SSID, either globally, or in a particular service area that will be impacted by your change. Right click it and select Change events. Mark the time and describe the change. The change event will appear in Analyzer in the End-to-end and Frames reports.
Remote Packet Capture
You can perform a remote packet capture from a Sapphire Eye from anywhere in the world. In your topology, identify the Eye, right click it and select packet capture. You can capture all the traffic for a specific channel, or capture traffic from just one of your access points.
On-Demand Testing
You can invoke an on-demand test from a Sapphire Eye anywhere in the world. In your topology, identify the Eye in the right service area and expand it until you see the list of access points that are managed. Identify the AP/SSID you want to test , right click it and select Manual Tests.
Naming Your Access Points and Sapphire Eye Sensors
To improve reporting, give your Sapphire Eye sensors meaning and descriptive names. Also, import a list of your access point names into 7SIGNAL.
Quick Setup
Use the Quick Setup utility to quickly and easily add a new sensor to an existing location/service area. When finished, the Quick Setup process has completed the following steps:
- Identified new access points in the service area beaconing your Wi-Fi networks and bound them to your existing network keys.
- Bound them to this location's test profile, and then started automated testing.
- Bound them to this location's alarm group.
