For organizations that rely on mission critical Wi-Fi to conduct business, 7SIGNAL is a cloud-based Wireless Network Monitoring (WNM) platform that continuously tests the wireless network for performance issues – maximizing network uptime, device connectivity and network ROI. Unlike other providers, who monitor the network from the inside-out at the infrastructure level, 7SIGNAL operates on the networks edge, monitoring the “air” and capturing the user experience on the client device.
7SIGNAL products do not access end-user data, payload or content.
Sapphire Eye collects end-user device Radio MAC addresses to identify how well devices and Wi-Fi access points can communicate. This is also used for troubleshooting new and existing issues on the network. Radio MAC addresses are needed to provide Wi-Fi performance trending over time and identify infrastructure and devices which underperform.
Mobile Eye collects end-user device Radio MAC address, IP address, and device and network technical metadata in the course of measuring how well the devices and Wi-Fi access points can communicate and for troubleshooting the potential or already existing issues.
7SIGNAL modules use only Wi-Fi radio header information. Collected information is in essence metadata about individuals’ Wi-Fi usage. We do not have access to nor collect data-subjects’ identities. For example, 7SIGNAL does not have data-subject names, addresses, etc. – only the device and its connected network metadata.
7SIGNAL uses patented technology to run continuous active and passive tests on the wireless network to detect optimal service level agreements (SLAs). As indicated above, these tests are performed by leveraging Key performance indicators (KPIs) on the network and end user devices. These KPIs are collected and sent to the cloud where the data is processed and displayed through a graphical user interface – giving engineers much needed insight into service level quality and end user experiences.
This module only collects the data necessary for Sapphire Eye to troubleshoot wireless networks and only displays the data collected to resolve issues with the WLAN.
All information is transmitted to the Sapphire Eye web servers and is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2.
All communications between the Sapphire Eye application and the 7SIGNAL platform occurs over TLS 1.1, and 1.2. All SSL certificates are uniquely generated for each customer account and are automatically provisioned.
Unless a customer has deployed an on-premise version of Sapphire Eye, all Sapphire Eye customer data is stored within 7SIGNAL’s virtual private cloud (VPC) hosted by Hetzner in Germany. Hetzner maintains industry standard security certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC-1, 2 and 3.
This module only collects the data necessary for Mobile Eye to troubleshoot wireless networks and only displays the data collected to resolve issues with the WLAN.
All information is transmitted to the Mobile Eye web servers and is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2.
All communications between the Mobile Eye application and the 7SIGNAL platform occurs over TLS 1.1, and 1.2. All SSL certificates are uniquely generated for each customer account and are automatically provisioned.
All Mobile Eye customer data is stored within 7SIGNAL’s virtual private cloud (VPC) hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS maintains industry standard security certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC-1, 2 and 3. All stored information is processed on AWS and is replicated across multiple availability zones within the United States.
Internally, 7SIGNAL has implemented numerous administrative, physical, and technical oversight policies and processes to ensure the security and integrity of the transferred data.
7SIGNAL certifies its adherence to the EU-US Privacy Shield Frameworks in order to provide an adequate basis for the transfer of personal information from the European Economic Area to 7SIGNAL’s servers in the United States.
