The Importance of Vendor-Independent Providers

Agnostic providers can provide superior service, opportunities, and expertise

As more solutions enter the technology space, it’s becoming more and more important to work with a vendor-independent provider. Why? A non-partial service can offer non-proprietary solutions without ties to certain systems or equipment—giving clients greater choices and impartial solutions.

7SIGNAL is vendor-independent. We provide our clients with an agnostic solution to wireless network monitoring (WNM). Working with a provider like us enables business owners to choose the technology and services that have their best interests at heart.

The benefits of vendor-independent providers

The customer is at the center of it all

Providers with ties to certain vendors will naturally only present those solutions to a customer, and there is usually a financial agreement in place to do so. That is certainly the prerogative of the provider, but the customer may suffer because they aren’t seeing the full picture.

Businesses soliciting a service provider do so for the expertise and outside management. They trust that the provider is telling them the full truth and is showing them any and all solutions that will efficiently get them to their target.

But oftentimes, this isn’t the case. Providers with vendor relationships may present solutions that don’t completely fit the customer, be more expensive than necessary, or have certain limitations that will prevent them from reaching their goals.

In contrast, an independent provider listens to the goals of the customer and shows them all of the options that will get them there. It might not be the most expensive or elaborate option, but if it’s what’s best for the customer, then that’s what the provider prioritizes.

More choices and opportunities

Objective providers can present clients with the full gamut of options available to them across the marketplace. Vendors all have their unique capabilities, which also means they have their own limitations and setbacks.

It’s up to the provider to walk the customer through every option. How will it impact the business? What is the implementation process? And what does the timeline look like to get there?

This should be an exciting prospect for businesses because the options, in some cases, vary widely. Whether the solution integrates with current systems or requires new systems and hardware, the business can rest assured that a vendor-neutral provider will be goal-oriented when choosing or recommending the solution.

Sometimes, the customer has a different solution in mind or, at least, different expectations. Objective providers can have those open (and sometimes difficult) conversations to push for the most ideal solution (or push back on the wrong one).

Providers working with certain vendors can’t paint the whole picture because their interests and expertise lie in a certain service. An independent-vendor provider can assess the marketplace, choose, and implement the best service from a wider range of options that align with the client’s goals.

Expertise

Independent providers have to be familiar with all of the available solutions out there. They can offer detailed guidance on the pros and cons of each system as well as what will work best with a business’s goals.

Their expertise also comes into play with implementation. A provider can work with a company’s current systems and hardware to implement solutions without calling for a complete overhaul—which might be otherwise necessary with certain vendor-dependent solutions. Independent providers have enough expertise to customize solutions for each client.

7SIGNAL’s approach

7SIGNAL is a cloud-based Wireless Network Monitoring (WNM) platform that continuously tests the wireless network for performance issues.

7SIGNAL is vendor-independent, which means we go beyond the data provided by access point (AP) vendors. We provide a completely agnostic solution that works with all industry-standard wireless access points, regardless of whether they are controller- or cloud-managed.

Cloud-based

7SIGNAL’s cloud-based SaaS solution allows clients flexibility and ownership over their experience. Clients can instantly scale their usage depending on their needs and access their network monitoring from anywhere. Cloud services also eliminate costs and services needed with typical local hardware and software setups.

Early monitoring

Consistent monitoring of Wi-Fi network performance means businesses can identify and solve issues before they blossom into larger problems. 7SIGNAL provides a comprehensive picture of trouble spots before users and critical applications are affected.

The 7SIGNAL dashboard lets clients monitor their sites in one place with color-coded organization, so problems are easily identifiable. Email alerts are also sent when performance levels sink below certain points. It enables businesses to quickly get to the root of their performance interruptions, improving the end-user Wi-Fi experience and vastly reducing the risk of service disruption.

7SIGNAL can reduce IT operating costs, improve scalability, and allow businesses to plan for their future without unnecessary expenses and guesswork. We measure Wi-Fi performance from the client’s point of view and don’t rely on data tracked by wireless LAN vendors. Staying independent allows 7SIGNAL to provide world-class expertise to clients that is free from any limitations or the influence of particular vendors.
