7SIGNAL is proud to announce several promotions of key employees within the technical organization. As a result of his vast knowledge and experience in his field, Don Sloan is now Vice President of Wireless Technologies. "Don has worked with 7SIGNAL over the past five years in various consulting roles, however, with the wireless landscape evolving so rapidly, we need Don's expertise to be a permanent part of our senior team," stated Tom Barrett, president and CEO of 7SIGNAL.
Don has had a distinguished career that spans more than 35 years in key engineering development and leadership. As Director of RF Engineering with Cisco from 2000-2008, Don was responsible for a team of 100 engineers in Cisco’s Wireless Networking Access Business Unit managing the design and development of radio-based wireless LAN network access point equipment and systems. Don also held engineering and leadership positions in radio design with Aironet (acquired by Cisco), as well as Texlon and Motorola. Don is an inventor and co-inventor of numerous patents in portable barcode scanning equipment, radio communications, and networking systems.
In addition to Sloan, 7SIGNAL is also pleased to announce Marko Pirinen as Vice President of Technical Services. Marko is a 25-year wireless industry technology veteran with expertise in Wi-Fi/WLAN, GSM/EDGE, WCDMA/HSPA technologies. "Marko has successfully led 7SIGNAL's Customer Support group for many years. In his time at 7SIGNAL he's helped hundreds of wireless engineers and IT professionals optimize their Wi-Fi networks for peak performance," Barrett further stated. "Now, Marko will lead all professional services, implementation, project management, and pre-sales engineering. His knowledge of our system, technologies, and customers is unparalleled and we're so fortunate to have him on our team."
Finally, 7SIGNAL would like to recognize Joe Tennant as the new Director of Software Development and Architecture. Tennant came to 7SIGNAL from Snap-On Business Solutions over two years ago and has played a major role in designing and implementing 7SIGNAL's SaaS-based Mobile Eye cloud platform. 7SIGNAL's Mobile Eye is experiencing rapid growth as the application finds itself on workstations in hospitals and manufacturing facilities all over the world. Russ Wangler, Chief Technology and Product Officer for 7SIGNAL had the following to say about Tennant, "Joe is responsible for so many of the product improvements and innovations that we have delivered over the past year. He is a tremendous engineer, but also an amazing leader and collaborator."
