has announced that its Mobile Eye® and Sapphire Eye® products are in compliance with the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) mandate.
GDPR is among the toughest privacy and security laws in the world and replaces the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive. The new mandate unifies the data protection rules across Europe and strengthens the rights of EU citizens by emphasizing transparency, fairness and accountability. GDPR compliance affects all businesses, regardless of location, that do business with the EU or citizens of the EU.
A significant component of 7SIGNAL’s compliance with GDPR revolves around data for both customers and the individual owners of wireless devices. 7SIGNAL does not collect personal information – and the company does not send marketing materials to individuals whose devices are experiencing great Wi-Fi as a result of our Wireless Network Monitoring platform. All customer data is stored on secure systems owned or operated by 7SIGNAL or its service vendors Amazon Web Services and Rackspace. For subscribers, 7SIGNAL does not transmit any subscriber data to its servers without prior written consent. 7SIGNAL also now requires an additional Data Processing Agreement (DPA) from its resellers, distributors and customers before it can process any data within the EU.
